Please port Blackbird to Linux and Ubuntu where people would be more willing to try it. To spread its usage it needs to be where people are willing to try new things. If it is good in Ubuntu, these people are usually the techs who refer what they like to others. A port to Ubuntu should not be hard as Firefox is native to it.

I am sure this debate will play on. There are people still questioning whether BET or Black magazine or book series are "racist" or not. I think it will take continued education and an understanding of the fact that African Americans have a cultural identity that extends beyond our skin color.

Also, Blackbird is not a browser for Black people, it is for everyone that is interested in African American culture or media. The whole idea behind the search is that is brings stories from African American media outlets to the front of the search results, but it does not eliminate other results, nor is this restricted in who can use the browser. Everyone is welcome (just like you are welcome to watch BET). There is no difference.
